The 7th session of the 15th National Assembly will have two sittings from May 20 to June 8 and from June 17 to the morning of June 28. The assembly will meet 26 and a half days in total.

The National Assembly will elect the President of Vietnam and Chairman of the National Assembly. It will deliberate and pass 10 bills, give opinions on 11 draft laws, and decide on socio-economic, state budget, and supervision issues, among other things.

The ongoing session will raftify several laws, notably the revised Capital Law and a law amending and supplementing a number of articles of the Law on Asset Auctions.

The Assembly will consider passing a resolution allowing the Land Law to take effect from July 1, 2024.

The Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee unanimously nominated To Lam, Politburo member and Minister of Public Security, to the NA for election as the next State President, and Tran Thanh Man, Politburo member and Permanent NA Vice Chairman for NA Chairman.
