Police in Vung Tau Ward, Ho Chi Minh City, said on September 28 that they were completing legal procedures against two 17-year-old male suspects from Tan Phuoc Ward on allegations of robbery.

According to investigators, the incident occurred at around 9.20 pm on September 26 when a 42-year-old Russian woman was riding an electric bicycle along Vo Thi Sau Street.
Two teenagers on a motorcycle allegedly approached the victim, snatched her mobile phone and fled the scene.
After receiving the report, Vung Tau Ward Police launched an investigation and traced the suspects.
Less than 18 hours later, officers identified and summoned the two teenagers for questioning.
The suspects allegedly admitted that they had planned the robbery because they needed money for personal expenses. According to their statements, one suspect drove the motorcycle while the other grabbed the phone before they escaped.
After the theft, the pair sold the mobile phone to a shop in Phu My Ward and split the proceeds.
Police seized the motorcycle believed to have been used in the crime, recovered the stolen phone and returned it to the Russian tourist.

The case remains under investigation, and authorities said the suspects will be dealt with in accordance with the law.
