Local authorities in Lam Dong on September 27 confirmed that the accident occurred earlier the same day and claimed the lives of two schoolchildren.

According to preliminary information, at around 3.20 pm, a group of five children aged between seven and 11, all from Bac Binh Commune, went to Doi Duong Beach in Phan Ri Cua Commune for a swim.
While bathing in the sea, the children were caught by strong waves and dragged offshore, leading to a drowning incident.
Nearby residents who witnessed the accident rushed to help and successfully rescued three of the children. However, the remaining two victims could not be saved and were pronounced dead.
Authorities and local officials completed procedures to hand over the victims’ bodies to their families for funeral arrangements. Local leaders also visited and expressed condolences to the bereaved families.
