A mother in Thanh Hoa Province is calling for help to support her children and grandchildren, two of whom have mental illness and a third was seriously injured in a traffic accident.

Le Thi Ngoan's husband died 10 years ago and she was alone caring for their five children, one of whom died and left her daughter in Ngoan's care.
Ngoan's oldest daughter got married but her situation is difficult. Two of her sons have mental illness and the whole family depended on Ngoan's youngest son, Pham Tri Hoang.

Hoang has a daughter, but he was in a traffic accident two months ago and suffered a serious brain injury.

"We were all depending on Hoang. We only have small rice fields and some allowances for disabled people, so my daughter-in-law had to borrow tens of millions of dong to pay hospital charges. We also sold our pair of buffalo," Ngoan said.
Pham Thi Hang, Ngoan's grand-daughter, wants to drop out of school to help the family.
