On June 30, a Dantri/Dtinews reporter and the Lam Dong Sponsorship Association presented a symbolic cheque worth VND 231 million (approximately USD 8,900) to the family of Pham Vo Nguyet Anh in Lam Vien-Dalat Ward.

The donations were raised through Dantri's Charity Programme and have been transferred in full to Nguyet Anh's bank account.
In addition, the family received around VND 40 million (approximately USD 1,500) in direct donations from readers and benefactors, bringing total support to more than VND 271 million (approximately USD 10,400).
Nguyet Anh said her son, Dinh Huu Ba Hoanh, born in 2017, has been diagnosed with a malignant brain tumour and has undergone multiple rounds of treatment.
Hoanh, the couple's youngest child, fell seriously ill in 2024 after developing a high fever and persistent vomiting. He was rushed to hospital, where doctors diagnosed a malignant brain tumour. His family used all of their savings to cover surgery and treatment costs.
Since then, Hoanh has undergone six operations and several rounds of radiotherapy, with medical expenses exceeding VND 500 million (approximately USD 19,200). The family still needs more than VND 200 million (approximately USD 7,700) to continue paying for medication and treatment.

"When our family had exhausted all of our savings and could no longer afford to take our son to hospital, readers and benefactors came to our aid after Dantri/Dtinews shared our story. The more than VND 271 million we received has helped us cover part of his treatment costs. We are deeply grateful to Dantri, its readers and everyone who supported our family during this difficult time," Nguyet Anh said.
Nguyen Van Luc, chairman of the Lam Dong Sponsorship Association, said the family had faced severe financial hardship while caring for a child with a life threatening illness requiring prolonged and costly treatment.
"The support from Dantri readers and benefactors has eased some of the family's burden and given them greater hope of continuing Hoanh's treatment," Luc said.
