ACI Worldwide, Inc., a leading international provider of electronic payments software and solutions, today announced that Smartlink Card Services Joint Stock Company (Smartlink) is using BASE24-eps(R), ACI's market-leading software for online payments processing, on IBM Power Systems infrastructure. Smartlink is one of the largest national retail payment switch companies in Vietnam, and is ACI's first customer in the country.
Smartlink is using BASE24-eps as a shared payment switch between its member banks, and to connect to Vietnam's other national switch. This enables card holders to use any ATM, without being restricted to their own bank's ATM network. As a result, card holders in Vietnam have easy access to cash wherever they are through more than 10,000 ATMs across the country.
BASE24-eps was implemented to replace the bank's legacy payments switch. Smartlink selected ACI and BASE24-eps so that the switch would be in the strongest position to meet current market demands and roll out new functionality and customer services easily and cost-effectively. BASE24-eps will enable Smartlink to roll out direct ATM driving, POS driving, and connections to Visa, MasterCard, American Express, JCB and Diners Club in the future.
BASE24-eps delivers an enterprise service for all retail banking payments. It is a multi-platform solution that can acquire transactions across many different channels, manage electronic payment devices, and perform high-volume switching, routing and authorization services. BASE24-eps is live at more than 40 organizations around the world, processing the highest transaction volumes and enabling major financial institutions, processors and retailers to process their electronic payment transactions.
