Director of the Danang Inland Waterways Authority and a head manager of city's docks have been suspended for 15 days as the investigation into the cause of the boat accident that killed three people in Danang City continues.

Chairman of Danang City Huynh Duc Tho confirmed the decision on June 6 that they suspended Le Sau, director of the Da Nang Inland Waterways Authority, and Nguyen Cong Hieu, head of Danang docks management board. Tho said they had asked agencies including the transport and public security departments to review and define the individual responsibility over this case. They also asked the city inspectorate to help with the investigation.
Deputy Director of the Danang Department of Police, Colonel Tran Muu, said they would prosecute the case and expand the investigation.
On June 4, a Thao Van 2 tourist boat capsized on the Han River. Three people died and several other passengers were injured. One passenger said the boat was overloaded carrying 56 passengers while the boat has capacity for 28.
Initial investigation shows that the boat had operated illegally.
The boat's captain was detained after the accident.
