Do Thanh Duong has cerebral palsy

Vu Thi Thuy and her husband got married in Quang Thuong Village, Ly Nhan District. However, due to poverty, their five-member family is living in a small shack near her sister's rice field in Than Y Village.

Her son, Do Thanh Duong has cerebral palsy. He has seizures and screams out frequently but he doesn't know how to speak.

"He had a high fever when he's one month old. Doctors said he had cerebral palsy and needed long-term physiotherapy. However, we don't have enough money," Thuy said.

Thuy and her husband find any work they can. There was a time that they sent their children to live with grandparents so that they could go to Hanoi to find work. However, their incomes haven't been improved so they returned home.

Van Ly Commune People's Committee Chairman Ngo Duy Den said, "We helped Duong to access social services. But we can only help them so much."
