An Hoi Street blocked due to Covid-19

On July 30, leaders of Hoi An People's Committee said they had detected five new cases in the area. All five patients are Hoi An residents and had had contact with the patient in Danang. Four of them are living in Minh An Ward and the other lives in Son Phong Ward.

One of Hoi An resident was infected and is being treated at Danang Hospital. Two infected residents from other cities and provinces had reported to visited Hoi An.

The authorities have continued to detect more cases who had some form of contact with the first patients.

The authorities have set up four checkpoints and locked down the An Hoi Street with 450 households and 2,000 people. They also set up four checkpoints on Lac Long Quan, Dien Bien Phu, DT607 and DT608 streets. These are four main roads in the northern Hoi An. They are next to Dien Ban Commune which is on the main route to Danang City. All drivers from Danang are not allowed to enter Hoi An and were asked to turn back.

As the situation in Hoi An is reported to become more complicated due to various infection sources.

Starting from July 31 to August 14, Hoi An will implement social distancing rules in accordance with prime ministerial directive no.16 to prevent the spread of SARS-CoV-2. The public is asked to limit going out unless for necessities like food, medicines and other emergency cases.
