Heavy rain began in the early hours of the day, causing deep flooding in residential areas of Villages 8 and 9. Water levels reached 0.8 to 1.2 metres in some areas, damaging homes and threatening the property of more than 40 households.

Dozens of police officers, soldiers and youth volunteers were deployed to help residents move their belongings and evacuate households in the worst-affected areas to safe shelters.
