American War bomb found near Phong Nha Cave during river dredging

A 227-kilogramme bomb was recently discovered about 200 metres from the entrance of Phong Nha Cave in the central province of Quang Tri during the dredging of a local river.

PeaceTrees Vietnam detected the US MK82 bomb found near Phong Nha Cave while clearing Son River to improve water flow.

After being informed, PeaceTrees Vietnam’s MTT1 team swiftly responded to the site and safely transported it to a secure storage facility.

According to Tran Mung, Deputy Director of the Phong Nha-Ke Bang Tourism Centre, thanks to the quick support from PeaceTrees Vietnam, tourism activities along the Phong Nha-Tien Son route have resumed, ensuring smooth and uninterrupted visits for tourists.
