On February 24, patrol forces from the Lang Co and Chan May Border Guard Stations found oil along a 7-kilometre stretch of beach spanning Loc Vinh Commune and Lang Co Town in Phu Loc District.

The Hue Border Guard Command have worked with relevant agencies to collect the crude oil. By the afternoon of February 25, approximately one tonne of oil had been gathered.
According to the command, a significant amount of oil continues to wash ashore, requiring more cleanup efforts in the coming days.
A similar phenomenon was detected along a beach in the central province of Quang Nam on February 24. Authorities are currently investigating the cause of the incident.
