At the house hand-over ceremony on October 11.

Each house, costing VND 80 million (approximately USD 3,250), was donated to the families of Bui Tiep Khac, Ho Bach Thuy and Thach Thi Uot through contributions sent to Dtinews.

Bui Tiep Khac, 43, supports a family of five, including an elderly mother over 60, a son soon to join the army, and a daughter in secondary school. As the main breadwinner, Khac has long relied on unstable manual jobs. Recently, he suffered a stroke, leaving him unable to work and worsening the family’s financial hardship.

Ho Bach Thuy, 56, lives with her husband and son. None of them have stable employment, and their wooden, thatched home had severely deteriorated. Lacking savings, they could not afford to rebuild it.

Meanwhile, 40-year-old Thach Thi Uot, a mother of three, said her eldest son, aged 14, had to drop out of school due to financial strain. Her small leaf-roofed house was leaking and crumbling but the family had no means to repair it.

Speaking on behalf of the three households, Uot expressed deep gratitude: “Our old home was falling apart. Whenever it rained or stormed, we feared it could collapse. Thanks to the local authorities, Dtinews readers and Bao Viet Life Bac Lieu, we now have a safe, solid house. We will take good care of it and work harder for a better life.”

Each house measures over 50 square metres and includes a living room, bedrooms, and a kitchen.

Le Van Dang, Vice Chairman of Ninh Quoi Commune’s People’s Committee, said the locality still has many poor households but limited resources. “We sincerely thank Dtinews readers and Bao Viet Life Bac Lieu for supporting our disadvantaged residents. We hope such assistance continues in the future,” he said.
