Huong Khe District cultivates rubber over 6,400 hectares. Between late December to March, rubber leaves turn from yellow into red and fall to the ground through gusts of wind.
This time of the year is not the season for rubber tapping, so bowls to contain latex are hung over the rubber trees.
The colour change of rubber leaves takes place gradually.
Travelling on HCM City Road or National Highway 15, it is easy for people to see the rubber forest in Huong Vinh commune.
The peaceful rubber forest
Rubber was cultivated in the late 19th century by French colonists. The tree has become one of Vietnam’s staple industrial crops.
