The city received nearly 17.1 million visitors between January and August, a 6 per cent increase compared with the same period in 2025.
Of the total, almost 6.6 million were overnight visitors, up 10 per cent year on year. Tourism revenue exceeded VND 51 trillion (USD 1.96 billion), representing growth of 23 per cent compared with the first eight months of 2025.
The strongest performance came during the five-day National Day holiday period from August 29 to September 2. Quang Ninh welcomed approximately 568,000 visitors, a rise of 60 per cent from a year earlier.
Overnight stays were estimated at 227,500, up 70 per cent, while tourism revenue reached an estimated VND 1.8 trillion (USD 69.2 million), an increase of 84 per cent year on year.
Alongside the development of new tourism products, Quang Ninh has continued to strengthen destination marketing, promotional activities and international cooperation.
During the first eight months of the year, the city also welcomed additional international cruise visitors. Notably, China’s Adora Magic City made its first call at Quang Ninh, bringing more than 5,000 international tourists to explore the destination.
To maintain momentum through the remainder of the year, Quang Ninh authorities have launched an Autumn-Winter Tourism Stimulus Plan aimed at attracting visitors beyond the traditional peak season.
Extending the tourism season is regarded as a key strategy for distributing visitor flows more evenly throughout the year while improving the utilisation of tourism services and accommodation facilities.
