“The ship is a versatile combination of a trailing suction dredger and hopper barge with a capacity of 1,000m3, commonly used to maintain navigable waterways,” said the official.
The official said the keel laying ceremony for the first in the series was held in November 2014 and it is currently on schedule for delivery in early February 2016.
The ship named the Severnaya Dvina has been designed by Damen Shipyards Gorinchem after the name of the river in the north of European Russia which flows into the Dvina Bay of the White Sea near Arkhangelsk.
