A house covering around 180 square metres and weighing approximately 300 tonnes in Xuan Phu Commune, Dong Nai City is being lifted, reinforced and relocated intact to clear land for the construction of DT773 Road, a key route connecting to Long Thanh Airport.
Under the relocation plan, the house will first be raised from its original foundations and moved back about 30 metres before being shifted sideways roughly 42 metres onto a new foundation.
The property was built around five years ago and is valued at about VND 1.8 billion (USD 69,231).
Rather than demolishing the structure, the family opted to preserve the building, spending more than VND 500 million (USD 19,231) on the lifting and relocation work.
The DT773 Road project is approximately 36 kilometres long and is designed with six to eight traffic lanes. The route begins at an intersection with National Highway 1 in Xuan Hoa Commune and ends at Huong Lo 10 in Xuan Duong Commune, providing a direct connection to Long Thanh Airport.
