As of 9 am on September 21, 5,018,955 people had been screened. Of the city's 168 wards, communes and special zones, 132 had screened at least 30 per cent of their populations, while 49 had reached at least 50 per cent.
Thanh An Commune recorded 100 per cent coverage, followed by Phuoc Thang Ward at 96.9 per cent, Long Phuoc Ward at 83.2 per cent and Vinh Loc Commune at 82.5 per cent.
However, 36 localities remained below 30 per cent. The health department urged them to identify groups yet to be screened and take measures tailored to local conditions.
The city will next focus on university students and workers, whose screening rates stand at just over 13 per cent and 18.5 per cent, respectively. Authorities plan to organise more health checks at universities, vocational schools and workplaces.
The health department is also assessing screening quality and has asked medical facilities to ensure results are accurately recorded in electronic health records.
