The ranking match for 81st and 82nd place between Vietnam and Hungary took place in Baku, Azerbaijan, on the afternoon of October 30 (Vietnam time).

The European side led 2-0 at half-time. Matches at this year's tournament consisted of two 20-minute halves. Trailing by two goals, Vietnam stepped up their attacking tempo after the break.
In the 32nd minute, Huy Huynh scored to reduce the deficit to 2-1. Hungary restored their two-goal advantage in the 38th minute, making it 3-1. Vietnam, however, continued to fight.
A minute later, Xuan Vinh produced a skilful finish to make it 3-2. But with little time remaining, the team coached by Hoang Anh Tuan could not find an equaliser.

The defeat left Vietnam 82nd overall among the 189 teams at the tournament. The team played 10 matches, winning six and losing four.
Their six victories comprised three group-stage wins: 4-1 against Mauritius, 2-1 against Guyana and 6-0 against Brunei; and three wins in the ranking rounds: 5-3 against Nicaragua, 2-1 against Cuba and 4-2 against Azerbaijan.
Their four defeats included two group-stage losses, 3-6 to Bosnia and Herzegovina and 3-4 to Iran, followed by a penalty shootout defeat to Rwanda and the 3-2 loss to Hungary.
Vietnam's U15 squad is scheduled to leave Azerbaijan and return home on October 31, bringing their campaign at the youth world tournament to an end.
