Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Lam Thi Phuong Thanh signed two decisions on October 29 granting national scenic heritage status to A1 and C2 caves in Nam Da Commune, both part of the Krong No volcanic cave system.

A1 Cave, also known as Dung Nham, Bat or Honeycomb Cave, is located in Buon Choah Village. It was formed by lava flows during eruptions of the Nam B'Lang volcano.
C2 Cave, also known as C1-C2 Lava Cave, Bat Cave or Crocodile Cave, is situated in Duc Lap Village.
Both caves extend more than 400 metres and reach depths of three to 10 metres. Their rare geological structures provide valuable evidence of lava tube formation, distinguishing them from other caves in the Krong No system.
The Krong No volcanic cave system lies within the core area of the UNESCO Global Geopark Dak Nong and is recognised for its outstanding geological and geomorphological significance.
The national heritage designation places both caves under statutory protection and strengthens recognition of their scientific, scenic and natural heritage value.
Authorities said the designation would provide a legal basis for conservation and management while creating opportunities for responsible geotourism development.
It is also expected to support scientific research, heritage education and tourism promotion, helping Lam Dong balance natural heritage conservation with sustainable tourism development.
