The Thanh Hoa Heritage Management Board announced on October 15 that entry fees would be waived for all domestic and international visitors to the UNESCO-listed Ho Citadel in Tay Do Commune and the Lam Kinh Special National Historical Site in Lam Son Commune.

The two-day programme will also feature cultural and artistic activities celebrating the province's heritage.
Nguyen Van Long, deputy director of the heritage management board, said the two sites represented important periods in Vietnamese history associated with the Ho and Later Le dynasties.
Authorities are improving the sites' landscapes, arranging visitor guides and strengthening security and safety measures ahead of the events.
The preparations aim to provide better conditions for sightseeing, cultural exploration and traditional worship activities.
According to the Thanh Hoa Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the province welcomed approximately 15.9 million visitors in the first nine months of 2026, reaching 94.9 per cent of its annual target.
Tourism revenue totalled around VND 42.84 trillion (USD 1.63 billion).
Following the summer peak, the province is seeking to attract more visitors through cultural tourism, community-based ecotourism, short breaks and meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions (MICE) tourism.
Destinations including Pu Luong, Lam Kinh, Ho Citadel and Sam Son, alongside cultural and tourism events scheduled for autumn and winter, are expected to support visitor growth.
The free-admission initiative is part of Thanh Hoa's efforts to promote its historical attractions, encourage heritage tourism and attract visitors outside the peak summer season.
