During an emergency search of the residence of 63-year-old Nguyễn Ngọc Châu in An Bình Ward, Rạch Giá City, the Mekong Delta province of Kiên Giang, the police found 3,000 pamphlets containing content that incites disturbances of public security and order.
The documents were set to be distributed during holidays, aiming to overthrow the Socialist Republic of Vietnam as directed by the terrorist organisation “Chính phủ Quốc gia Vietnam lâm thời” (the provisional national government of Vietnam).
The police also seized various equipment and materials used for drafting and printing the pamphlets, and others.
Châu confessed that she had contacted some members of the organisation, led by Đào Minh Quân, through Facebook to receive guidance. Châu’s task was to prepare for the distribution of the aforementioned pamphlets during holidays.
The case is under further investigation.
