Vietnam Vaccine Joint Stock Company (VNVC) and pharmaceutical giant Pfizer have exchanged a cooperation document in the United States to support vaccination programmes and enhance disease prevention capacity in Vietnam.
The exchange took place during a visit by General Secretary and State President To Lam and a high-level Vietnamese delegation to Pfizer's headquarters as part of a working trip to attend the high-level debate of the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York on September 22.

At the ceremony, representatives of both organisations expressed their intention to contribute expertise, resources and technical capabilities to support Vietnam's healthcare priorities.
The two sides also discussed opportunities for cooperation aimed at expanding immunisation coverage, strengthening the preparedness of Vietnam's public health system and supporting the country's long-term healthcare objectives.
The latest agreement builds on an earlier memorandum of cooperation signed in March 2025 between VNVC and Pfizer under the witness of leaders from Vietnam's Ministry of Health and the US Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City.

Under that agreement, Pfizer committed to sharing expertise and knowledge to help develop capabilities related to the production of high-quality vaccines.
The partnership includes support for VNVC in enhancing its understanding of the planning and construction of vaccine manufacturing facilities that meet international standards in Vietnam.
The initiative is intended to support the long-term goal of domestic vaccine production, helping meet national demand while enabling Vietnam to gradually participate in the global vaccine supply chain.
