Border police at Danang International Airport have returned a Rolex watch and several other lost valuables to passengers after they were accidentally left behind at the airport.

On the afternoon of September 17, Sergeant Nguyen Duc Hoang of the International Security Control Team 2 discovered a gold-coloured Rolex watch that had been left unattended during a security screening operation.
Hoang immediately reported the find to his superiors and coordinated with terminal operators to issue a lost-property announcement, review security camera footage and contact the relevant airline to identify the owner.
Less than 30 minutes later, authorities determined that the watch belonged to Long Jianming, a Chinese national travelling on flight AK641 from Danang to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
The identification was made just as boarding for the flight was about to close. Security officers quickly returned the watch to Long before the aircraft departed.
According to the passenger, the Rolex watch was worth approximately VND 1.6 billion (USD 61,538).

In a separate incident on September 16, officers from the Domestic Security Control Team recovered and returned lost property with a combined value of nearly VND 200 million (USD 7,692).
Among the items was a backpack discovered in the domestic arrivals hall by First Lieutenant Phan Minh Khoa. The bag contained a MacBook computer worth around VND 3.8 million (USD 146), 6.5 chi of gold accompanied by purchase documents, and several important personal papers.
Authorities quickly identified the owner as a female passenger who had arrived on flight VN1670 from Haiphong to Danang. All belongings were subsequently returned intact.
On the same day, First Lieutenant Nguyen Ngoc Duc found a wallet containing VND 40 million (USD 1,538) in cash along with important documents. The property was verified and returned in full to its owner.
Airport authorities said the incidents highlighted the close coordination among security personnel, terminal operators and airlines in helping passengers recover lost belongings quickly and safely.
