According to local authorities, the accident occurred at about 4.30 am when a sleeper coach struck a motorcycle on a national road passing through An Nhon Bac Ward, Gia Lai Province.

After the collision, the coach driver lost control, crashed into a taxi parked nearby and overturned at a roundabout.
A 63-year-old man riding the motorcycle and a female passenger on the coach suffered critical injuries and died shortly afterwards.
Five other passengers were injured and taken to hospital for emergency treatment.
Among them was a 32-year-old woman who sustained a fractured tibia, a fractured lower leg and abdominal trauma. Her two children, aged five and two, suffered minor injuries.
The remaining two seriously injured victims underwent emergency surgery and were reported to be in stable condition.
