Vietnamese, Chinese defence ministers witness joint patrol

Defence Minister Gen. Phung Quang Thanh and his Chinese counterpart Chang Wanquan performed the rituals of saluting territorial sovereignty marker 1223 and witnessed a joint patrol of the two countries’ border soldiers in Chi Ma border gate.

Phung Quang Thanh and his Chinese counterpart Chang Wanquan performed the rituals of saluting territorial sovereignty marker 1223 and witnessed a joint patrol of the two countries’ border soldiers in Chi Ma border gate, in the northern mountainous province of Lang Son, on March 29.

 At the border defence exchange

The event is part of the third Vietnam – China border defence friendship exchange, which is held in both Lang Son province and the Chinese province of Guangxi.

Later, they attended a ceremony inaugurating the Vietnam – China border friendship cultural house – a venue of exchange between residents in Lang Son’s Chi Ma village and those in Ning Ming district of China.

The same day, they visited and presented gifts to the Military Command of Loc Binh district and watched martial arts performances in Lang Son city.

As scheduled on March 30, a Vietnamese defence ministry’s delegation will travel to China to join activities hosted by the country.
