The Department of Dyke Management and Disaster Prevention under the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment said on September 21 that recent floods in northern and north-central Vietnam had left three people dead in Phu Tho Province and damaged or destroyed nearly 120 homes across several localities.
The affected provinces and cities include Ninh Binh, Nghe An, Hanoi, Lao Cai, Phu Tho and Thanh Hoa.

According to the department, approximately 5,099 homes remain inundated, including 1,787 in Ninh Binh Province and 3,312 in Hanoi.
“Floodwaters have largely receded. The remaining flooded households are experiencing only low-level inundation and are mainly located in low-lying areas outside the dyke system,” the agency said.
Authorities continue to monitor conditions in affected areas and support residents as recovery efforts progress following the widespread flooding caused by prolonged heavy rain.
