As many as 250 works and projects worth nearly VND 1.28 quadrillion (USD 48.73 billion) are being simultaneously kicked off and inaugurated across Vietnam this morning, August 19, to mark the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day.
Of the total, 129 projects are state-funded with a combined investment of VND 478 trillion (37 per cent), while the remaining 121 projects, worth VND 802 trillion (63 per cent), are financed from other sources. Foreign direct investment contributes to five projects with a total value of approximately VND 54 trillion.
These comprise 89 projects inaugurated and 161 others newly commenced.

In Dong Thap, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh attended the inauguration of the Rach Mieu 2 Bridge project.

In Phu Tho Province, a ceremony was held to mark the grid connection of Unit 1 of the Hoa Binh Hydropower Plant Expansion Project with the participation of Deputy Prime Minister Mai Van Chinh and Phu Tho Party Secretary Dang Xuan Phong.

General Luong Tam Quang, Minister of Public Security, attended the groundbreaking ceremony of Gia Binh International Airport in Bac Ninh Province.
Work on the Ca Mau-Dat Mui Expressway also commenced this morning, with Minister of Defence Phan van Giang in attendance.
Hanoi this morning also broke ground on many major projects, including the Ngoi Hoi Bridge and its approach roads, the Viettel Research and Development Centre and the Yen Xa Wastewater Treatment Plant project.
According to Deputy Minister of Construction, Le Anh Tuan, the 250 projects contribute over 18 per cent of national GDP in 2025 and more than 20 per cent in the following years.
