The municipal People's Committee has approved the design competition requirements for the two bridges as part of a project to upgrade transport infrastructure along Nguyen Tat Thanh Street.
Tan Thuan 1 Bridge, spanning Te Canal and linking Nguyen Tat Thanh and Huynh Tan Phat streets, is planned to have six traffic lanes.

The bridge will measure more than 372 metres long and 24 metres wide, with an estimated construction cost exceeding VND 521 billion (USD 19.8 million).
Tan Thuan 2 Bridge, connecting the Ton That Thuyet-Nguyen Tat Thanh area with Nguyen Van Linh Street, will be expanded from three to eight lanes.
The new bridge will be more than 391 metres long and 32.75 metres wide, with an estimated investment of VND 676 billion (USD 25.7 million).
City authorities have called for distinctive yet practical architectural designs that complement the Te Canal waterfront, surrounding urban areas and the historic Nha Rong-Khanh Hoi precinct.
Proposals must prioritise traffic connectivity, structural safety, durability and construction feasibility, while minimising disruption to existing traffic.
A competition panel will assess submissions based on architectural quality, landscape integration, transport efficiency, technical solutions and economic viability.
