Vietnam confirms 12 new Covid-19 cases

Vietnam documented 12 new Covid-19 cases early this morning, July 21, with all being Vietnamese returnees from abroad, according to the Ministry of Health.

Vietnam documented 12 new Covid-19 cases early this morning, July 21, with all being Vietnamese returnees from abroad, according to the Ministry of Health.

The people returned to Vietnam via a flight from Russia which landed at Van Don International Airport in the northern province of Quang Ninh on July 17.

The patients aged between 24 and 51 are from different localities of Hanoi and Haiphong cities and the provinces of Ha Nam, Nam Dinh, Nghe An, Thanh Hoa and Thai Binh.

They have been divided into two groups for being quarantined in the northern provinces of Nam Dinh and Ninh Binh.

As of Tuesday morning, Vietnam has recorded 396 Covid-19 patients with the majority being from abroad. Among those, 360 have fully recovered, accounting for 90.9% of the country’s total case number.

Until now, 50 foreign Covid-19 patients have been declared of free from the virus following the treatment in Vietnam.

Of the remaining cases, five patients have tested negative for the virus at least once.
