Vietnam Railways Corporation said the bomb was found while the upgrade work was being carried out. The bomb was located only one metre away from the railway. The upgrade work was also halted and the construction team notified the authorities.
North-South trains numbered SE7 and SE8 had to be stopped as the railway section from Kim Lu to Dong Le stations were cordoned off. 11 freight trains also had to wait at various stations in Ha Tinh and Quang Binh provinces.
The Vietnam Railways Corporation hired passenger buses to transport passengers to the next station.
The bomb was successfully moved on the early morning of June 5.
