Russian President Vladimir Putin will visit Vietnam from June 19 to 20 at the invitation of Nguyen PhuTrong, the General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam's Central Committee.

Speaking with the Vietnam News Agency about the visit, the Vietnamese Ambassador to Russia, Dang Minh Khoi, said it was a significant diplomatic event that demonstrated Russia's commitment to its multifaceted co-operation with Vietnam.

President Putin's visit will provide an opportunity for the leaders of both countries to discuss and outline specific measures to enhance bilateral economic and trade cooperation, including boosting the implementation of major joint projects, particularly in areas such as energy, industry and agriculture, he said.
