In 1969, Vietnamese Minister of Engineering & Metallurgy Nguyen Van Kha visited Sweden, asking for the country’s support to build a paper plant. In February 1971, a group of Swedish forestry experts came to Vietnam for surveying the project implementation. In 1975, work on Bai Bang Paper Mill was started in Phu Ninh District.

The village is located on a hill near the plant, providing accommodation for more than 400 experts from different foreign countries, mostly Swedish people, who helped to build the plant. The area includes swimming pools, bars and sports facilities.

In 1990 when the paper plant’s operations were stable, the experts left Vietnam. Since then, the plant has been left idle.

The village is surrounded by many trees.

Most of the village facilities have been kept unchanged, except for parts of furniture.

The village is quite deserted. Houses are almost closed.

A swimming pool is covered by moss.

The village still offers accommodation services, but it often attracts just a small number of people
