At 4 am this morning, September 18, the storm lay offshore of Quang Binh to Quang Nam with wind power of 75-100 kilometres per hour.

Heavy rains in Danang 


In the next 12 hours, the storm would move onto provinces from Quang Binh to Quang Nam then 24 hours later would weaken into a tropical low pressure.

At present, several localities in the central region are facing torrential rains. Many areas in Nghe An’s Vinh City have been flooded by heavy rains, resulting in traffic jams.

Violent winds and rains have also caused power losses for some areas in Ha Tinh Province. The same situation has also been reported in Danang City and the provinces of Quang Tri and Thua Thien-Hue.

Downpours indicate continuing ravaging central localities from Ha Tinh to Quang Ngai today. Meanwhile, the northern region would see rains until Sunday.

Three airports in the central region namely Chu Lai, Danang and Phu Bai have been suspended today due to the storm.
