The hospital and places where the patients had visited were disinfected immediately. After it was reported that the patient had taken passenger buses to his parents' home in Phu Lac Commune, Tuy Phong District, 12 times, the neighbourhood was locked down. The authorities also traced 308 F1 people so far.
Le Tuan Phong, chairman of Binh Thuan Province ordered to apply preventive measures to slow the spread of the virus. Social distancing will be applied from June 24 in Phan Thiet City, and from June 25 in Tuy Phong District for 14 days.
Meetings, religious and entertainment events with more than 20 people in the same rooms and a crowd of over 10 people in public places have been banned. Restaurants can only offer take-away services. State agencies will also move online as much as possible to limit direct contacts with other people.
Phong asked agencies to collect all test samples of F1 cases on June 24.
Nguyen Duc Hoa, vice chairman of Binh Thuan People's Committee, asked related agencies to have plans for a surge in the number of cases. The police and localities authorities were asked to survey the areas to set up quarantine centres if necessary.
The Department of Education and Training must have plans to ensure public safety amid the coming National High School Graduation Exams. Teachers, supervisors and inspectors from other provinces and cities must have a negative Covid-19 test taken 48 hours before going to Binh Thuan.
District authorities will be responsible for contact tracing, locking down places where the patients had visited and supplying necessities to people in the locked-down areas.
