Canh's family receives donation
Canh had an operation on a brain tumour 10 years ago. Since then, his health has deteriorated greatly and he often suffers from headaches. Canh and his wife have two children together, the oldest is five years old and the youngest is only three.
The family has to depend on Canh's 81-year-old mother. They have a rice field but since the family members are either too old or too weak, there's no one to do farming. Canh occasionally finds odd jobs to do.
Two years ago, Canh's health worsened. His family borrowed money from everywhere to raise VND20m to take him to the hospital. They don't even have money for daily meals.
After his story was published, many people called and made donations to the family. Canh is taking medicine and goes to the hospital for check-ups once a month.
"I want to thank everyone for helping us during this time," Canh's wife, Ho Thi Canh, said.
