Duong's family receives the donation


12-year-old Nguyen Dang Duong is currently being treated at the National Cancer Hospital in Hanoi's Tan Trieu Commune.

His brothers, eight-year-old Nguyen Dang Viet Anh has pyelonephritis and four-year-old Nguyen Dang Khanh has fourth cranial nerve palsy. All hopes and responsibilities are placed on Duong but unfortunately, he was diagnosed with leukaemia.

Duong's grandmother said, "He became thin and couldn't ride a bicycle. I urged his parents to bring him to the hospital and doctors said he had leukaemia."



Son couldn't eat or speak properly

When he was admitted to hospital, he couldn't eat or speak properly. His health has worsened recently. His family have borrowed money from everyone they can think of to treat him.


Nguyen Thi Ha, Duong's mother, said, "There are wounds inside his mouth. I'm afraid of him leaving me so much. His brothers also want to go to hospital to see him."

VND245,165,000 has been donated to Duong after his story was published. Duong's family said they were moved and grateful to everyone that had donated. Duong's family said all of the money would be used to buy medicine and treatment charges.
