Ho Thi Sa, 78, at Thien My Commune, Tra On District said that she has six children. Two among those died while the remaining four have mental health problems.

Sa’s husband died 10 years ago, leaving her responsible for the children.
Her eldest son, who is 60 years old, married to a local woman and then had a boy. However, the boy showed mental problems like his father.
The boy has had to stop going to his class as he used to attack his classmates. He often attacks Sa.
The three other children aged 54, 52 and 48 sometimes have violent behaviour, even to their mother. One of them regularly brings back junk into the home.
At present, the family lives on the government’s monthly subsidy of a mere VND1 million (USD47.6), so their life is very hard.
Sa’s health condition has worsened with eye and ear problems. She is worried about her children’s future when she dies.
According to Nguyen Van Phuc, chairman of Thien My Commune, local authorities have helped to build a new house for her besides the monthly subsidy. However, the subsidy is too modest for them. He hoped people could help relieve the family’s difficulties.
