Jetstar Pacific Airline apologises to passengers over the delayed luggage on February 5
According to a Facebook post by one of the passengers of the BL621 flight from Osaka City to Hanoi on February 5, he and many other passengers were left angry having to wait for their luggage for more than an hour after landing to be told that it was left in Japan due to overloading.
The passenger wrote that they were dissatisfied with the explanation from the staff at the airport, saying that the airline should have refused luggage in such a situation.
A representative from Jetstar Pacific Airlines then announced that the BL621 flight from Osaka City to Hanoi on February 5 night had to reduce the luggage due to bad weather.
"Right before taking off, the flight's captain was informed of the bad weather which would lengthen the flying time to over five hours from the normal duration of between four to five hours," the airline said.
"The captain decided to take more fuels and reduce luggage to ensure safety," it said. "All the luggage was then transferred to a Vietnam Airlines plane which arrived in Hanoi on the afternoon of February 6. We are contacting with all passengers and will deliver the luggage to their places by February 7."
Jetstar Pacific also sent apologies to all passengers for the inconvenience and asked for their understanding given the need to conform to safety regulations.
