Speaking at the ceremony, Le Minh Hung described the operation as a solemn tribute to those who died in service, saying many families were still waiting for their relatives to be found decades after the war.

"For many families of fallen soldiers, the war has never truly ended. We must do everything possible to recover their remains and return them to their loved ones," he said.
The prime minister praised organisations and individuals who had contributed to efforts to locate a suspected mass grave at the park, saying the discovery had renewed hope for thousands of families.

He called for the recovery operation to be carried out carefully and safely, and urged Ho Chi Minh City authorities to work closely with the ministries of defence and public security to mobilise resources and accelerate the identification of recovered remains.
The PM said he was confident the mission would be completed successfully through close coordination and sustained commitment.
