Before the storm made landfall, authorities imposed a maritime ban from midday on July 3, moving all 365 tourist boats, 127 island passenger vessels and more than 4,100 fishing boats to safe shelters. Local authorities also evacuated 3,785 people from floating fish farms and aquaculture areas, while another 227 residents from 79 households were relocated from flood and landslide prone areas.
Following prolonged heavy rainfall, emergency teams set up checkpoints, installed warning signs at high risk locations, cleared fallen trees and rescued 12 crew members from a vessel that broke free from its anchor and drifted offshore.
The Quang Ninh People's Committee said the province is now focusing on post storm flood prevention. Authorities continue to monitor the risk of landslides and flooding, clear drainage systems and advise residents not to return to the sea or aquaculture areas until it is declared safe.
