Police in Tan Ky Commune, Nghe An Province, said on September 13 that they had coordinated with forest rangers to rescue and release a slow loris discovered inside a local residence.
At around 8.20 am, local authorities received a report from a resident who had found an unidentified wild animal believed to be a slow loris inside a house.
Following the report, police officers and forest protection officials arrived at the scene, secured the animal and transported it to a safe location for assessment.
After examination, authorities confirmed the animal was a slow loris, a protected wild species subject to conservation measures under Vietnamese law.
The animal was subsequently released back into its natural forest habitat, ensuring the safety of both local residents and the animal itself.
Tan Ky Commune Police urged members of the public not to capture, keep, trade or harm wild animals that enter residential areas. Instead, residents should promptly notify police or forest rangers so that trained personnel can handle the situation in accordance with wildlife protection regulations.
