The announcement followed a cooperation agreement signed on November 4 between the Danang People's Committee and Vietjet Air to strengthen tourism promotion and showcase the city's attractions.
Under the agreement, the two sides will coordinate marketing campaigns to promote Danang as a destination for domestic and international travellers.
The city is also considering promoting its tourism image on Vietjet aircraft and using the airline's media platforms to introduce local attractions, tourism products and experiences to passengers.
The two planned routes, Danang-Osaka and Danang-Jakarta, are expected to begin operations on December 20, 2026, further expanding the city's connections with international tourism markets.
Nguyen Thi Hoai An, deputy director of Danang's Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, said the city welcomed more than 17 million overnight visitors in the first 10 months of 2026, up 24.5 per cent year-on-year.
International visitors accounted for more than 8.3 million of the total.
An said Danang was seeking to strengthen its position as a tourism hub while expanding international economic, trade and investment links.
Closer cooperation with airlines would improve accessibility, raise the city's profile as a destination and help attract more visitors, she added.
