Hue health officials said on September 13 that the number of workers from Scavi Hue admitted to hospital with suspected food poisoning had risen to 198. Twenty patients have since been discharged and are continuing their recovery at home.

The Hue Department of Health ordered the suspension of the company's collective kitchen in Phong Dien ward pending the outcome of an investigation into the incident.
Authorities also instructed Hue Thanh One Member Co., Ltd., the supplier of meals to the factory canteen, to halt food deliveries while cooperating with investigators to determine the cause of the suspected outbreak.
During the suspension, Scavi Hue has been required to provide alternative meals for employees in compliance with food safety regulations.
In a statement issued on September 13, the company said it had worked closely with hospitals following the incident to monitor and care for affected workers.
Scavi Hue pledged to cover all medical examination and treatment costs, as well as other necessary expenses incurred during employees' recovery. The company also said it would fully cooperate with health authorities and other relevant agencies investigating the case.
According to company representatives, most affected workers are showing positive signs of recovery.

The incident began at around 10 am on September 11, when dozens of employees developed symptoms consistent with food poisoning and were taken to Hue Central Hospital II for emergency treatment. The number of admissions continued to rise over the following days.
Patients reported symptoms including fever, abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting and diarrhoea. Initial diagnoses indicated acute gastroenteritis, with food poisoning suspected as the underlying cause.
