Vinh-Hanoi train to stop at Phu Ly for hospital access from November

The Vinh-Hanoi NA2 train will stop at Phu Ly Station from November 1, improving access to Bach Mai and Viet Duc hospitals' second campuses in Ninh Binh for central Vietnam residents.

Vietnam National Railway Group announced on October 29 that Phu Ly Station would be added to the NA2 service to meet travel demand from central provinces.

The new stop is intended to help residents of Nghe An, Ha Tinh and neighbouring areas access medical examinations and treatment at the second campuses of Bach Mai Hospital and Viet Duc University Hospital, both located in Liem Tuyen Ward, Ninh Binh Province.

Under the timetable, the NA2 train departs Vinh Station at 9.55 pm and arrives at Phu Ly Station at 3.54 am the following morning.

The overnight journey allows patients and accompanying family members to rest on board before reaching the hospitals in time for early-morning registration.

The additional stop is expected to reduce travel time and costs while limiting the need for overnight accommodation.

Patients who complete their examinations or treatment in the morning can also arrange transport home on the same day.

To accommodate passengers, railway authorities have upgraded platform shelters, added seating in station waiting areas and improved connections with other transport services outside the station.

The railway operator previously added a passenger carriage to the service to meet medical travel demand, increasing capacity to around 700 passenger journeys per train, or approximately 1,400 per day.

The new Phu Ly stop is part of efforts to improve rail connections to major hospitals and meet healthcare travel needs in central Vietnam.
