The Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee held a get-together on January 15 for overseas Vietnamese (OVs) returning home to celebrate the Lunar New Year Festval (Tet).
President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee, Huynh Dam, officials from the State Commission for Overseas Vietnamese Affairs, and 50 representatives of OVs from countries around the world attended the event.
Mr Dam highlighted Vietnam’s remarkable socio-economic achievements in recent years, which, he said, were partially contributed by Vietnamese nationals abroad.
He affirmed that the overseas Vietnamese community is an inseparable part of the great national unity bloc and the Party and State attach much importance to protecting their rights and welcoming their investments in their native land.
Mr Dam also called on OVs to strengthen solidarity, preserve traditional cultural values, and integrate well into their resident countries.
OVs said they were very pleased with Vietnam’s rapid development and pledged to continue making contributions to their home country.
