According to the Military Command, the bombs and mines have become rusty after being buried in the ground for many years.

The ordinance was then transported to a military area in Hoa Vang District for being detonated between October 1 - 4.

The controlled explosion was successfully carried out.

Vietnam is one of the countries hardest-hit by bombs, mines and explosives left over from the American War.

Since 1975, more than 40,000 people in Vietnam have been killed and 60,000 have been injured by bombs and mines. Most of them are people at the working age and children.
