Ten outstanding individuals honoured at the event

The event was jointly held by the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union Centre Committee, the Vietnam Youth Federation, and the United Nations Volunteers programme.

Addressing the ceremony, Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union Centre Committee, Nguyen Anh Tuan, expressed his gratitude and admiration for the devotion of the volunteer community and organisations.

“It can be said that you are the embodiment of the spirit of compassion and sharing in the community. It is you who are ambassadors to convey the message of the Youth Union of volunteering for a better community and brighter future for everyone,” Tuan said.

Tuan expressed his hope that the volunteer movement would create more values and useful works for the community.

The list of 10 volunteers honoured at the ceremony includes Hoang Trung Duc, Nguyen Thanh Tuan, Truong Phuc Hau, Nguyen Tat Hung, Le Trung Tuan, Hoang Trong Khanh, Phan Thi Phuc, Duong Thi Sau, Le Thanh Do, and Dinh Thi Kim Phan, who have made outstanding contributions to voluntary work for the benefits of the community.

Nguyen Thanh Tuan has raised funds to build 16 concrete bridges and 1.7km of concrete roads in disadvantaged rural areas. He also mobilised resources to build 18 social houses and present 2,360 gifts, scholarships and bicycles for 2,360 students.
