On August 14, Bac Ninh authorities detected a new cluster of cases at Viettel Post in Luong Tai District. A 27-year-old shipper travelled and came into contact with 10 employees at a warehouse in Bac Tu Liem District, Hanoi. He had a cough and tiredness on August 14 and tested positive for Covid-19 on the following day.

Bac Ninh CDC also detected nine positive cases after public screenings. All of them are shippers at Viettel Post and have been quarantined and treated. Bac Ninh and Hanoi authorities have been asked to expand contact tracing tasks and test everyone in high-risk groups. People with symptoms must be quarantined quickly.

On the morning of August 16, Hanoi reported 20 positive cases including two community cases and 18 cases in high-risk and quarantine centres.

A couple in Dong Da District went to St. Paul’s Hospital after the husband fell and suffered a head injury. Their Covid-19 tests later came back positive. Two women in Hoan Kiem District tested positive after a screening at high-risk areas. 13 patients are in Dong Anh, one in Ha Dong and one in Thanh Tri district. All of them have been in contact with Covid-19 patients and detected via contact tracing on August 14 and 15.

Since the start of the fourth wave, Hanoi has reported 2,222 patients. The authorities will continue screening tests in various parts of the city.
