On January 6, local authorities claimed to have caught the man red-handed while killing a tiger at the house of Ngo Van Quan in Pho Yen Town’s Tien Phong Commune. The intention was to make 'animal glue' from the corpse.

The police confiscated many exhibits, including one tiger skeleton, two sets of tiger skins, one frozen tiger and bones of other kinds of animals at Quan’s house.
The police also found 1,578 packs of animal glue bones and 21 glass jars containing bile bear.
